Pledge to be a part of HIV Legislative Week!

| July 11, 2012

Coming to Washington, D.C. for the International AIDS Conference? Be sure to visit your members of Congress and tell them why and how they must help us reach an AIDS-free generation! Pledge to be a part of HIV Legislative Week July 23-27.

With tens of thousands of people in the nation’s capitol for the International AIDS Conference, we advocates have a unique opportunity to educate our U.S. senators and representatives about how HIV impacts our lives and our communities. Help Congress get the message that it must do everything in its power to reduce new infections and ensure people with HIV have the support, care, and resources necessary to stay healthy. Join us!

Our friends at AIDS United, Treatment Access Expansion Project, and the National Association of People with AIDS put together this useful Do-It-Yourself guide to help you. It contains tips on how to set up meetings and effectively communicate with your legislators as well as talking points on key HIV issues like health care reform, Medicaid expansion, prioritizing science over politics, and funding for HIV programs.

Take advantage of advocacy trainings in the Positive Community Networking Zone of the Global Village. The schedule of trainings is available here.
