School’s out, but not for Medicaid! New State Report Cards on Money-Saving Options
As Medicaid plays such an important role in the lives of many individuals living with HIV, how do we assess ways to save money without compromising care?
Community Catalyst, a non-profit advocacy organization, recently updated their innovative web tool, the Medicaid Report Card. The educational tool is designed to help advocates identify policies that will reduce Medicaid costs while maintaining or improving patient care, as an alternative to slashing coverage or payment rates.
Users can track the Medicaid progress in their state by clearly seeing where decision makers have ‘Made the Grade’, need ‘Room to Improve’, or totally ‘Missed the Mark’ .
The Medicaid Report Card hopes to tackle the inefficiencies in the Medicaid delivery system that add needlessly to costs. The report card identifies policy options that eliminate these wasteful practices and result in savings for states while maintaining patient care.
Beyond the fridge door…
Share this website with key decision makers in your state! This proactive advocacy will inform decision makers of the opportunities available to make their programs more cost-effective and provide better patient care without resorting to cuts in eligibility, benefits, and provider rates!
